2017 SHOW DATES UPDATED
We have now updated our diary of show dates for 2017 including private shows, theatre solo and duo dates. Click HERE to find a show near you.
A NEW BEGINNING
I’m going to be taking a much more personal approach to my website from now on and will be posting my own thoughts and feelings about shows, news and upcoming projects. I hope that you will enjoy reading some of it and that you will come out and see my shows in the new year as there will be a few changes to what you’ve been seeing of late. I will be making my personal social network profiles more private and having my pages link to my main website. This will make it easier for me to keep you all up to date with everything that’s happening....
Just as a taster, here’s what’s currently happening…
Johnny Cash Revisited, has it’s own site and pretty much everything that happens with the show will be both on that site and on the show’s Facebook page. We’re making some pretty big changes to the show for 2017, and although your favourite songs will still be included, it’ll have a very different feel to it, with a lot more attention being given to the Johnny Cash story.
My solo Johnny Cash shows have been very well received, which has inspired me to do more of these type of shows and to try to find ways to improve it.
Also in the works is a brand new show called “Elvis & Cash”, which I’ll be doing with my good friend Steve Halliday. It’ll look at the many parallels between Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley and will feature some material you don’t hear so often, as well as the hits that I never get tired of. There are no dates in the book yet, but this is the place to find out about them when they do happen.
The big news is that I will finally be going out with my own band again. The Rick McKay band will be back, but it’ll be a very different sound overall and a much more personalized show. I have become very frustrated with the music scene of late with all the pigeonholing that goes on. I’m too country for the rock ‘n’ roll scene and I’m too rockabilly for the country scene, yet none of those making these comments seem to realise that all three of those genres are very closely related.
Some of the songs I wrote for the “Back On The Road” CD (Hot Doggin’) will be dusted off and revamped and I’ll be adding songs from my “She Devil” EP, which was sadly never promoted properly due to my other commitments. I will also be adding to that a good mix of my favourite covers, which will include a few songs that deserve to be given another chance. In all, I hope to put together an exciting set of great music that is very much my own thing and less about what the current fads dictate. I’ve never been one to follow fashions and I think it’ll be a lot more creative and fulfilling if follow my heart rather than the money.
The band will consist of myself on lead guitar and vocals, Paul Richardson on drums, Ollie Prime on double bass and Steve Croft on piano. I’m really excited about this project as it’ll give me the chance to express myself a lot more.
I will continue to appear as The Big Bopper in the “Buddy Holly’s Winter Dance Party”. At this point there are only a few shows booked for next year, but I’m hopeful that there will be more. I really enjoy playing J.P. It’s a lot of fun. I may also make the occasional appearance in “Hank, Cash & Cline” next year.
JOHNNY CASH REVISITED
Rick's tribute to the man in black continues to establish itself as the UK's most authentic Johnny Cash tribute show. Positive comments from two of Johnny Cash's long time band members and close friends add credibility to just how close Rick, Jodie and Starkville City get to recreating the thrill of being at a live Johnny Cash show. Dave Roe, Johnny's bassist throughout the 90's, stated that he would "recommend Johnny Cash Revisited to anyone" and W.S. "Fluke" Holland, Johnny's ONLY drummer from 1960 right the way through until the end, stated that "Rick and the band are doing a great job of keeping Johnny Cash's music alive in the UK". Holland is even scheduled to visit the UK in May 2016 to perform live with Johnny Cash Revisited at the Hemsby #56 rock 'n' roll weekender, the biggest event of it's kind.
Rick will also be launching his solo version of Johnny Cash Revisited in 2016. This show will feature some different material from Johnny Cash's repertoire alongside the greatest hits of his own influences and his friends. Songs by Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Kris Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and others will all be included.
BUDDY HOLLY'S WINTER DANCE PARTY
2016 marks the year in which Buddy Holly would have reached his 80th birthday, and for that reason, Marc Robinson's "Winter Dance Party" show will be celebrating all through the year around the UK. It has now been confirmed that Rick McKay will be joining the cast as The Big Bopper on a more permanent basis, having covered the role on a few occasions in 2015.
HANK CASH & CLINE
Rick McKay made his first ever appearance as Johnny Cash in this show, back in 2012, which celebrates the music of three legends of country music, with Marc Robinson as Hank Williams and Sue Lowry as Patsy Cline. The show continues to play dates around the UK, in between other shows, and Rick has every intention of continuing his role whenever the show is on the road. The main show features a fullly live 6 piece band including fiddle and steel. A cut down version of the show will also be playing selected events in 2016, which still features all the main characters and all the great songs, but without the band.

RICK'S A BOPPIN' AGAIN!
It has just been confirmed that Rick will be appearing in the role of the Big Bopper in Buddy Holly's Winter Dance Party again in November. First, on the 2nd at The Mill in Sonning Eye, and again at The Secombe Theatre, Sutton on November 8th. Rick couldn't be happier for the opportunity to reprise the role as he had originally only taken the part to cover a couple of shows to help out. Now, Rick is hoping to be sporting the leoparprint jacket and flat-top haircut on a more regular basis.
The show is one of Marc Robinson's productions and is based upon the "Winter Dance Party" tour which claimed the lives of of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Also on the tour were Dion & The Belmonts, whose music is also featured in the great fun packed show. Check out the details in our gig guide to find ticket information.
ROCKABILLY SPIN-OFF SHOW
Johnny Cash Revisited was recently confirmed as one of many acts to appear at The Rock 'n' Roll Shakedown on 17th July 2015. (full details on our tour dates page) As this weekend event is geared towards the 50's, Rick McKay & Starkville City will be adding a few more of Johnny Cash's classic songs from his time at Sun Records to their repertoire. The set list, which will include some more obscure tunes such as, Straight A's in Love, Katy Too, Country Boy and Train Of Love is looking so good that it is now being developed into a into a spin-off show called The Sun of Johnny Cash, which will play additional dates in 2015.

ALL CHANGE FOR 2015
We’ve given our website a full-on facelift as we prepare for 2015. There are lots of other changes on the way too and a few surprises too.
JOHNNY CASH REVISITED OFF TO A GREAT START
Rick has been extremely busy during 2014 preparing for the big changes that have been happening in his career. His portrayal of Johnny Cash in Marc Robinson’s Hank, Cash & Cline at the beginning of 2013 was expanded into the full theatre production, Johnny Cash Revisited. Also featuring Rick’s wife Jodie McKay as June Carter and the fabulous Starkville City band, the show has gone from strength to strength, performing to loud and appreciative crowds in theatres around the UK throughout 2014, with 2015 dates coming in steadily.
During the summer, Rick and Starkville City performed a concert version of the show playing to large crowds at The Marvellous Festival in Reading, The Malvern Motorhome Show and also at Tribfest, the largest event of it’s kind in the world, with a promise of return visits to all three.
TELEVISION DEBUT FOR JOHNNY CASH REVISITED
In August Johnny Cash Revisited made it’s television debut was featured on Sky’s The Smith & Rogers Country show. The reaction has been so positive that selections of their performance is to be repeated in the coming weeks.
NEW THEATRE CHARACTER ROLES FOR RICK
New to Rick’s repertoire are two new theatre roles, as the Big Bopper in Buddy Holly’s Winter Dance Party and as Jim Reeves in Patsy Cline and Friends. He has already played a number of shows as the Bopper with more to come this year and his debut as Jim Reeves is scheduled for March 2015. Full details of all shows will be available on this site when released.
PATSY CLINE & FRIENDS
This is a brand new show featuring Sue Lowry as Patsy Cline with her special guest Jim Reeves and in some cases Hank Williams too, as played by Marc Robinson. Backed by The Moonshine Boys the show promises to be a lot of fun and will feature some of the best known country classics of all time. Jodie McKay will also feature in some performances of this production as the band leader and will perform some of her own country favourites, although this time, as herself.

HOT DOGGIN' ARE BACK!
After a two year split, Rick and John Standen have reformed their Honky-Tonk/Rockabilly trio Hot Doggin'. This time around they will feature guest appearances from Jodie Mckay and Marc Robinson and will expand to a four piece for selected shows. Recording sessions are being planned to cut some of the songs that were originally written for the trio's second album and some brand new material. The idea to reform after John Standen played a couple of dates with Rick's JOHNNY CASH REVISITED theatre show. The two have stayed in regular contact since and have and found they have a renewed enthusiasm for their original plans and some great ideas for some new ones. In the coming months they will be adding selected dates to their diaries, recording a new CD and have a few other surprises up their sleeves.
Keep an eye out for Hot Doggin' news and dates being added to our gig guide.

RICK MEETS JOHN CARTER CASH
On the morning of Tuesday 4th March Rick received a last minute invitation to the launch of Johnny Cash's brand new CD release Out Among The Stars. BBC Radio's Steve Cherelle had pulled out of covering the event due to ill health but knowing how much of a Johnny Cash fan Rick is he arranged for him to go to the event. Having arrived early Rick was introduced to John Carter Cash, the only son of Johnny Cash and June Carter, and had time for a chat with him before his scheduled question and answer session hosted by BBC legend Bob Harris began. They discussed the new CD and also John Carter Cash's own recent project Lupus Rex. It's an album of music inspired by the children's novel of the same name, also written by Cash. Rick also had a chance to chat with John Carter about Johnny Cash Revisited and took the chance to assure him that his Dad's music would be well looked after and respected. John Carter hung around until the very end of the proceedings and took time to chat and pose for a few pictures with the guests. Rick said "It was an honour to meet John Carter Cash and he's a very friendly guy whose passion for his Dad and his work is obviously immense."
The event was held at the Bag O' Nails club in Soho, london and also there were the owner and staff of Westside Distribution who, coincidentally supplied Rick with two guitars for him to use in Johnny Cash Revisited. They had with them a selection of Martin Guitars, all of which Rick tried out and loved, but on particular Martin D45 model won his heart and is threatening to soak up a seriously large sum from his potential earnings over the next year.
RADIO CHAT WITH W. S. "Fluke" HOLLAND
The night before Johnny Cash Revisited took to the stage at The Secombe Theatre Rick was a guest on Rockin' Dave's Radio show on BRFM on The Isle of Sheppy. Rick played a few early Johnny Cash tunes live in the Studio with the help of John Standen on Bass and Billy Levin on lead guitar. Marc Robinson also dropped in and he and Rick performed Your Cheatin' Heart as a Hank Williams and Johnny Cash duet, which made an interesting mix.
Also during the show Johnny Cash's original drummer W. S. "Fluke" Holland called in via telephone to chat with Rick and Rockin' Dave. Fluke gave a lot of insight into what it was like to be on the road with Johnny and even after 60 years in the business, for which he recently won an award, he is still every bit as enthusiastic as he was in the beginning. As well as playing with Johnny Cash throughout his entire career, Fluke also played with Carl Perkins', most famously on Blue Suede Shoes and on Carl Mann's Sun recordings. He was also the first drummer to be allowed play on The Grand Ole Opry.
JOHNNY CASH REVISITED IS ON THE ROAD.
After much preparation and an initial "trial run" show last October at The Clifftown Theatre, Southend, Johnny Cash Revisited is now on the road. Rick and Jodie McKay in the roles of Johnny Cash and June Carter with their band Starkville City played their first two performances last weekend at The Secombe Theatre, Sutton and Witham Public Halls. Both performances met with standing ovations and much praise from the audiences after the show. The Secome Theatre confirmed that JCR brought in it's biggest audience of the year and Witham was all but sold out. Not bad for a brand new show.
RICK TO HEADLINE TRIBFEST IRELAND AS GARTH BROOKS
Rick McKay has been chosen to headline at Tribfest in Ireland on 31st May 2014. (see shows) Tribfest is the largest event of it's kind with annual shows in the UK and Ireland featuring the top tribute artistes from around the world. A BUSY FEW MONTHS
Apologies for the long wait for an update on here. Rick's time has been taken up with putting together his theatre show "Johnny Cash Revisited", although he has also managed to fit in some recording and performances with Pure Country, Marc Robinson & The Counterfeit Crickets, In Dreams and Roy Orbison & Friends.
ROY ORBISON & FRIENDS A "NO GO"
After much deliberation Rick has decided not to join the cast of Barry Steele's Roy Orbison and Friends in 2014. Although he has enjoyed the shows he's performed on this, the logistics of fitting dates in between his own Johnny Cash Revisited shows and those with Marc Robinson and Pure Country proved difficult to fit in.
JCR LAUNCHES DUO VERSION OF SHOW
A.M. Productions and Rickord Productions have today officially announced that a new version of Johnny Cash Revisited will make its debut in January at the Colourhouse Theatre in Merton. The new version of the show features two separate performances. The first half of the show will feature Jodie and Rick McKay in their roles as Johnny Cash and June Carter featuring many of Cash’s solo hits and the couple’s duets.
The second half of the show will feature Jodie and Rick in familiar form as the award winning duo “Pure Country”. They will perform a lively set of classic country music to suit all fans of the genre.
Jodie McKay's original role in the show was to be just one or possibly two duets but such has been the reaction to her performance that Jodie's role has been expanded to include a number of duets and also a solo spot as June Carter. Jodie has also been teaching herself to play the Autoharp, as played by June and her Mother Maybelle Carter, which will also become a feature in future shows. - See more at:http://www.johnnycashrevisited.com/news/#sthash.yEC7wLhH.dpuf
JCR DEBUT PERFORMANCE SELLS OUT!!
Johnny Cash Revisited made it's debut performance at The Clifftown Theatre in Southend on Friday 18th October. Thanks to the support of Rick McKay's guest spot on Steve Cherelle's" Big Country Show" on BBC Essex and The Southend Echo for a full page feature, the show was a complete sell out with extra seating having to be added to accomodate the additional demand.
An enthusiastic crowd greeted the show with loud applause and needed little encouragement in singing along throughout. The audience also joined in with some role-play as "prisoners" during "San Quentin" and gave the company a much appreciated standing ovation at the end.
The show is scheduled to return to The Clifftown next year on the same date (Oct 18th) although it has not been officially confirmed at this point. - See more at: http://www.johnnycashrevisited.com

RICK McKAY TO JOIN “ROY ORBISON & FRIENDS” FULL TIME
On Friday 7th October Rick travelled to Aldershot’s Princes Hall to meet with the producers of “Roy Orbison & Friends”, meet the show’s band, run through some songs and watch the show. Having already been asked to stand in as Johnny Cash on a show later in the year he had assumed that he was there purely to “break the ice” and meet everyone. Little did he know that the show’s producers and star Lynne and Barry Steele were about to offer him much more than a couple of stand in shows.
We are proud to announce that, from 2014 onwards with a one-off performance in Derby on October 26th 2013, Rick McKay will be joining the RO&F team as a regular cast member in the role of Johnny Cash alongside Barry Steele as Roy Orbison, and the show’s incredible band.

A WELCOME RETURN TO THE THEATRE
Before his move onto the British Country Music Scene in 1992 Rick spent a number of years working in the theatre productions "Forever Elvis" and "Elvis & The Rock 'n' Roll Years". Since then with only the occasional show and of course his role as Garth Brooks in "The Thunder Rolls" in 2001-02, Rick's work has been mainly club and festival shows both here in the UK and in Europe and the USA.
In the middle of 2012 Rick was asked to join Marc Robinson and The Counterfeit Crickets as his stand-in bassist for his new Hank Williams tribute show. Rick jumped at the chance and was immediately asked to play on more shows.
Marc Robinson is best known as the UK's number one Buddy Holly tribute act and has various incarnations of his show touring theatres all over the UK, "Buddy Holly: A Legend Reborn" (featuring regular guest tributes to Connie Francis, Billy Fury, Ritchie Valens and Elvis Presley), We Three Kings of Rock 'n' Roll" (featuring Billy Fury and Elvis Presley), "Buddy Holly's Winter Dance Party" (featuring The Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and Dion) and "Rave On". Rick is now a regular feature in the band on these shows playing double bass, electric bass, sometimes lead guitar and even playing the occasional show on drums.
Marc Robinson's Hank Williams show has now been expanded into "Hank Cash & Cline" in which Rick switches roles between playing bass and taking a lead role as Johnny Cash. Also as Johnny Cash, Rick has been invited to do a guest appearance alonside Barrie Steele in his "Roy Orbison & Friends" show later this year.
With his own tribute show "Johnny Cash Revisited" (see previous updates for details) and a solo tribute to Garth Brooks also about to be launched, Rick is very pleased to be back in theatres for the forseeable future.
A ONE-OFF RETURN TO THE MOONLIGHTERS
Rick will be returing to his former role as lead guitarist with Laura B & The Moonlighters on Saturday 15th June at The Rivoli Ballroom in London.
RICK'S GIG GUIDE FULLY UPDATED
We have today added a whole bunch of dates to our calendar. Check it out to see when Rick will be playing near you either in one of his own shows or with one of various other productions he's currently involved in.
UNFORGIVEN AT SSONE, SOUTHEND
Spike and Linette's Rockin' Sundays have now moved to a new and much improved venue at the SSONE Club on Southend's Eastern Esplanade. Rick's new rockabilly trio became a 4 piece band on 19th May when Jodie McKay joined the lads on stage as rhythm guitarist and also sang a few classic rockabilly songs by Janis Martin and Rosie Flores.
THIS IS HOW WE ROLL COMPILATION CD
Unforgiven have realeased their first ever studio track as the final track on Mad Rat Records' "This Is How We Roll" compilation. The album features original tunes by 20 current British Rock 'n' Roll and Rockabilly bands. Unforgiven's contribution is a Rick McKay tune called "You're Gonna Be Sorry". The song was originally written with Paul Ansell in mind but the lads ended up recording it before he ever got to hear it. Details of how you can get your own copy of the album will be posted shortly.

RICK McKAY AS JOHNNY CASH
Rick McKay made his first appearance in the role of Johnny Cash as part of "Hank Cash & Cline", a brand new theatre show paying tribute to three legends of country and popular music. Rick performed a variety of Cash's early hits including "I Walk The Line", "Big River", "Luther Played The Boogie" and "A Boy Named Sue" alongside Patsy Lee as Patsy Cline and Marc Robinson as Hank Williams. Rick will be adding to his repertoire of Johnny Cash songs for his own show "Johnny Cash Revisited" which will be touring soon. Visit www.johnnycashrevisited.com for more details.
LAURA B & THE MOONLIGHTERS
With Rick's workload on the theatre circuit continuing to build he has now decided to give up his position as lead guitarist with Laura B & The Moonlighters. Laura and the boys have recruited Chris Corcoran on lead guitar who played his first gig with them last Saturday at The Hep Cats Holiday, Pakefield. It was not an easy decision for Rick who considers Laura B to be the very best at what she does and loved every minute of his time with her and the boys.
UNFORGIVEN RECORD A NEW RICK McKAY TUNE
Rockabilly trio Unforgiven recently recorded their very first track for release on an upcoming Rockabilly compilation CD. They chose a brand new track written by Rick McKay called "You're Gonna Be Sorry". It's a jumpy little jive tune in which the main character gives a non too subtle warning to another man who has been making moves on his girl. Details of the track's release will be posted soon.
ROY ORBISON & FRIENDS
We are proud to announce that Rick has been asked to perform as a guest artist in Barry Steele's Roy Orbsion & Friends show in the role of Johnny Cash. The show will be on 26th October 2013 (full details in our gig guide) and will also feature Marc Robinson as Buddy Holly.

UNFORGIVEN RECORDING IN MARCH
During the fist week of March Rockabilly trio Unforgiven will be recording their first tracks together. One song from this session is to be included on a compilation CD of the best of British Rock 'n' Roll and Rockabilly bands due for release around Easter time. Which track will be included is not yet confirmed but we can tell you that all masters from this session are being recorded for Unforgiven's debut album.
Rick's date to appear as Garth Brooks at The Viking Dance Club in Selsey is to be re-sheduled due to a clash of dates. This show will now happen later in the year and Rick will now be appearing as Johnny Cash in "Hank, Cash & Cline" on May 4th at The Corn Exchange, Wallingford, Hampshire.
JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE BAND CONFIRMED
The band line-up for Rick's "Johnny Cash Revisited" show is as follows... Rick McKay (Johnny Cash) Paul Gaskin (lead guitar) Rob Tyler (drums) and Dean Amos (double bass) Full band rehearsals will begin in March.
HANK, CASH & CLINE
The opening night of Marc Robinson's new theatre production "Hank, Cash & Cline" went extremly well receivng a standing ovation for it's efforts. Marc Robinson as Hank Williams, Pete Jackson as Johnny Cash and Patsy Lee as Patsy Cline all gave great performances in their respective roles. Rick appeared as a member of the band on double bass for this show although 5 more shows are currently confirmed with Rick appearing in place of Pete Jackson as Johnny Cash in two of them on 8th March and 4th May (see gig guide for full details)
Incidentally, Rick's former lead guitarist from his country band of the 90's Mark Jacobs is also playing drums on all "Hank, Cash & Cline" shows.
Rick's new rockabilly trio, now officially named "Unforgiven" recently played it's first three dates, all of which came in so suddenly and at the last minute that we didn't even have time to include them on our gig guide. A one-off gig had been in the book for a while at "The Bewicks Jam Night" which happened on Wednesday 20th February. Dave Phillips (Hot Rod Gang) turned up to celebrate his birthday and ended up joining his bandmates Paul Gaskin and Rob Tyler on stage for an impromptu performance. A long time fan of Phillips, Rick stood in on double bass due to Dave's broken arm. Nick Player, Kevin Hirst, Lou Blackwell and Scott Elvis also joined the trio on stage and other familiar faces in the shape of Marc Robinson (Buddy Holly: A Legend Reborn) and Frankie Raydell (Doggone Honkabillies).
From this performance two more bookings came in for Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th. By the end of the weekend the trio was coming together very well and a lot quicker and easier than any of the members had expected. Rob Tyler on drums and Paul Gaskin on guitar, will continue to play gigs with Dave Phillips and Restless, filling the gaps with dates as "Unforgiven" Both will also appear in Rick's upcoming show "Johnny Cash Revisited" with the addition of Dean Amos on bass while Rick takes on the role of Johnny Cash.
Updated: 28th January 2013
Two new website are now online. One for each of Rick McKay's tribute shows. Rick felt that each show deserved it's own space and also wanted to keep his songwriting and recording work separate from the tributes to save any confusion.
The new sites can be found at the following addresses...
GARTH BROOKS: In Another's Eyes = www.garth-tribute.com
JOHNNY CASH REVISITED = www.johnnycashrevisited.com
If you accidentally add a .co.uk to either address, don't worry, it'll still work.
CLEARING THE DECKS
It's been a very busy couple of weeks which have brought about some pretty drastic changes. With his two new tribute shows about to go on the road in 2013 Rick is making time to concentrate the new projects. Unfortunately, this means that he will be handing over his place as vocalist/guitarist with The Wigsville Spliffs, and although he will continue to play occasional dates and record with Laura B & The Moonlighters, he will no longer be a regular member of the live band.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
It's a bit late we know, but when you read what's been going on you'll understand why we haven't been able to get back up to date until now. A big part of it is that we didn't have any concrete news to post. But, now we do!! Read on....
RICK'S TRIBUTE SHOWS
You may be thinking that there's an extra "S" on the end of the title of this piece, but you'd be wrong. As we announced a few weeks back Rick McKay tribute show, Garth Brooks: In Another's Eyes is currently booking dates around the UK, but little did we know that in the run up to Christmas, Rick would find himself putting together another show, this time paying tribute to one of his very early influences, and one that has stayed with him throughout his career, Johnny Cash!!
How did this happen, you may ask. Well, it's a tricky one to tell, and we're not sure just how much we're allowed to tell...yet. But here goes.
Rick stood in with a theatre show on lead guitar, and during the show he took over for a few numbers on vocals as the lead singer had a bit of a sore throat. (all those pre-Christmas bugs. Grrr) One of the songs he chose was Folsom Prison Blues, and as he often does in his shows, Rick did an impression of Johnny Cash in the song. It went down well with the audience and that was that.
A couple of weeks later, on the way to another show with the same band, Rick was asked if he could put together a whole set of Johnny Cash songs and actually take on the role as a tribute. Rick jumped at the chance and began working out what he would need to do to put it together. After some initial research and shopping around, It seemed like a lot of hard work and expense to do it for just a couple of show, and so Rick began to entertain the idea of taking it one step further and creating his own show to run in-between the others. You may notice that we're not mentioning any names here and there's a reason for that. We can't......yet....because Rick's part in the other shows are not yet 100% confirmed. (That's another story, though not a very long one)
Here's what we CAN confirm. Rick has built a new tribute show and it called JOHNNY CASH REVISITED. It can be booked as a one-man show, or with a four piece band, featuring an authentic recreation of THAT boom-chicka-boom sound that had such a huge influence on Rick McKay, even before he could walk, and millions of others. Show dates are coming in already, so keep an eye out for the show in you area.
We have added a page on this site that gives some more detail about what has driven Rick to take on this venture, but better still, we now have a dedicated sister site at www.johnnycashrevisited.com so you can find out all you need to know from there as we continue to build and add new stuff to it. Garth Brooks: In Another's Eyes will also have it's own site very soon at www.garth-tribute.com
NO MORE ROCK, RHYTHM 'N' ROOTS FOR RICK
There always casualties when a new project jumps to the fore and now is no exception. Due to Rick's commitment to his two tribute shows, plus his country and rockabilly bands, something had to go. Unfortunately, it was his job as presenter of Rock, Rhythm 'n' Roots at Saint FM 94.7 in Maldon. Although the show is just 2 1/2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon, Rick no longer has the time needed beforehand to prepare the show to the standard he has been working hard to achieve. Therefore, from next week the show will have a new presenter.
Rick has not severed his ties with Saint FM though. He will still be on air from time to time covering other shows when their presenters are away, and hopes one day to find time for a new regular slot once all the rehearsal stages are done with his other shows.
There have been a couple of other major changes too, but you'll have to wait for all the juicy details....

HOT DOGGIN' - BACK ON THE ROAD CD AT AMAZON!!
The one and only CD album by Rick's former rockabilly trio Hot Doggin' has been released on Amazon for the first time in CD format. Until today it has only been available as an .mp3 download. Rick is very happy to finally see the CD getting some spotlight. Although the trio has now disbanded Rick is still proud of the album and the six original tunes he wrote for it. "Why Don't They Leave Me Alone", "Are You Tryin' To Tell Me Somethin'", "Just Walk Away Now", Goin' Back On The Road Again", "I Can't Leave Ya" and "You Hang Up, I'm Hung Over" are all available for you to preview on our music page with many other tracks from Rick's albums.
RICK McKAY'S BACK CATALOGUE COMING ONLINE
We are working to make sure that Rick McKay's back catalogue of recording are available to all. We have had problems in the past but, thanks to our new collaboration with CD Baby, we are finally able to get the music out there and easily accessible. So far we have re-issued "Hicksville", "Beggars Can Be Choosy" and also Rick's latest release, "She Devil". Over the coming days all will begin showing up on all major retail sites such as iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby. If you don't already have all of Rick's albums it couldn't be a better time to complete your own collection or start someone elses.
SHE DEVIL TO BE RELEASED ON DECEMBER 1st
Rick's new 4 song mini-album will be released over this coming weekend. The title track "She Devil", "Addicted To You" and "Give Me A Reason" were all written by Rick and the fourth track "Up Jumped The Devil" is a cover of a great Ronnie Dawson song. The tracks can be previewed here on our music page, and will also be available to download or buy on CD very soon alongside Rick's other album releases.
GARTH BROOKS: IN ANOTHER'S EYES TRIBUTE SHOW
Rick McKay will be returning to the stage in the role of Garth Brooks for solo concert dates in 2013. The show will feature many of Garth's hits plus a few surprises based around Garth's personal influences. Rick has often been asked if he would consider reviving the role he took in 2001's "The Thunder Rolls" but had resisted performing a Garth Brooks set as a solo act until now. Dates for 2013 have already been posted in our gig guide and others will follow in the coming weeks. With interest in Garth's music on the rise and the country superstar himself hinting at a return to recording and touring (although nothing has been confirmed so far) now seems to be the perfect time to do it.
